Marcello 'The Boar' Vercelli grew up in Playa Del Rey, California, the next town over from Venice. At the age of 12, Vercelli was heavily motivated and influence by the Z Boyz. In the late 70's he was skating Marina Del Rey Skate Park down the street from his hosue everyday. No school, just surfing and skating all day long.

Jimmy 'The Rat' Plumer grew up in the North Florida surftown of Jacksonville Beach and was an avid surfer and skater as a pre-teen in the late 60's. While spending the Summer of '74 with his dad in Santa Monica, Plumer met Jay Adams and Tony Alva while surfing Malibu.

Born and raised in Venice Beach California, Jim started skating for Z-Flex in 1978 and was soon voted as the most improved skater on the team by 1979.

Eric 'Froggy' Andersen was the youngest among the second generation Venice Z-Boys. He is remembered as being the organiser of the group, and was accepted as an invaluable member. Froggy competed as one of the top three amatures in the world from 1976-1979, starting at the age of 7. His competitive nature opened the others eyes to the world of competition and allowed them to shine.

George 'Gator' Wilson was one of North Florida's best surfers and skaters from the early to late 70's. After graduating high school in '77, he joined Jimmy Plumer in Cal, and got to skate the original Dogbowl with the entire Dogtown crew.

Dennis 'Polar Bear' Agnew "was so naturally gifted on a skateboard. When Dennis was in his prime his 'Hand Plants' were legendary. Nobody could extend their body over the coping like him. His Blasted Backside Airs and his Rock & Roll Board  Slides were the best... Even by today's standards he was a pioneer.

For the last 35 years, Z-Flex has been home to some of the most iconic skateboard art of all time. More specifically, the original Z-Flex Animal series has been credited as the first graphic based skateboards, paving the way for many of the skateboard series you see today.
